Words of Wisdom (1)

If you fool around with a thing for very long you will screw it up.

After all is said and done, a heck of a lot more is said than done.

Never argue with a fool, people might not know the difference.

Tell a man there are 300 billion stars in the universe and he'll believe you. Tell him a bench has wet paint on it, and he'll have to touch it to be sure.

All's well that ends.

The other line always moves faster.

Anything good in life is either illegal, immoral or fattening.

If more than one person is responsible for a miscalculation, no one will be at fault.

Friends come and go, but enemies accumulate

If you try to please everybody, nobody will like it.

When a broken appliance is demonstrated for the repairman, it will work perfectly.

Everyone has a scheme for getting rich that will not work.

Nature always sides with the hidden flaw.

You will always find something in the last place you look.

No matter how long or hard you shop for an item, after you've bought it, it will be on sale somewhere cheaper.

If if jams - force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.

The repairman will never have seen a model quite like yours before.

A pipe gives a wise man time to think and a fool something to stick in his mouth.

Everybody should believe in something- I believe I'll have another drink!

Build a system that even a fool can use, and only a fool will use it.

You will remember that you forgot to take out the trash when the garbage truck is two doors away.

There's never time to do it right but there's always time to do it over.

A Smith & Wesson beats four aces.

You can never tell which way the train went by looking at the track.

New systems generate new problems.

Computers are unreliable, but humans are even more unreliable. Any system which depends on human reliability is unreliable.

Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. And scratch where it itches.

If it's not in the computer, it doesn't exist.

Any simple theory will be worded in the most complicated way.

All great discoveries are made by mistake.

Work smarter and not harder and be careful of your spelling.

If an experiment works, something has gone wrong.

Predictions

There is no way to measure predictions and no way to develop the knowledge to make predictions correspond to reality. There are many predictions but no similarly apparent result.

Choices and Decisions

Choices and decisions making apply to anything and everything we do and usually it is based on our own point of view. We make choices and decisions for different reasons and at different times. Whatever choices and decisions we make it is at our peril. No one can tell us beyond reasonable doubt that it is a mistake.

The Law of Reciprocity

The law of reciprocity, which appears in every culture simply defines that when someone gives us something we feel obligated to give something back to them.

Randi $1,000,000 paranormal challenge

If you can move things with your mind, if you can predict the future, if you can even see an aura: now is the time to prove it. "a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power."

All you need to do is get a local media outlet or other qualifying skeptics group to check out and report on/preliminarily witness a demonstration of your power in action. The rules are simple, sensible, and open to public scrutiny.

In January 2008, the JREF announced that the offer of the million dollar prize will cease on March 6, 2010.

If You Think You're Beaten

If You Think You're Beaten

  • If you think you're beaten, you are,
  • If you think you dare not, you don't.
  • If you'd like to win, but think you can't,
  • It's almost for sure, you won't.

  • If you think you're losing, you've lost.
  • For out in the world we find -
  • Success begins with a person's will,
  • It's all in the state of mind.

  • If you think you're outclassed, you are,
  • You've got to think high to rise.
  • You have to stay with it,
  • In order to win the prize.

  • Life's battles don't always go,
  • To the one with the better plan.
  • For more often than not, you will win,
  • If only you think you can.

Smart Aleck Guide for Dummies (1)

Smart Aleck Guide for Dummies

During a conversation practically every horse in the entire race card gets a mentioned or two. That enables the “experts” to boast to the fan the next day and remind him that “I told you that such and such a horse was being primed for a killing”

Slim Chance

Needless to say, when someone is trying to communicate with us and if they are not on the same frequency with us, the chances of coming together to form some meaningful understanding will be very slim.

One Size Does Not Fit All

There is actually no one right way to work with or train an animal. Any approach that says all animals can be trained using the exact same methods is simply not correct because animals are individuals. Each has a distinct personality as different as one human being from another.

Test Market

It's a quirk of human nature that no man can believe a 'wet paint' sign without first sticking his finger in the paint and no man will concede that molten lava from a volcano is hot until he sticks his finger in it and gets burned.

Same scenarios

The basic problems and scenarios that human beings encounter don't differ much from one person to another or from one generation to another. The same problems and scenarios has been encountered by dozens, hundreds or maybe millions before us.

Knowledge vs Guessing

Knowledge is the key to anything and anything else is speculative guessing.

Choice and Decision

Life is about choices. Whatever choice we make in life, we make it at our peril. Like anything else and most things in life, traditional decision making apply to anything and everything we do and we would never know that our decision would be wrong until we have made it.

Information

Plain and simple. Like most things in life that create income, it is information. Information we have that others don't. That's it.
